Day One

Setting our priorities straight: first thing out of the plane is hitting the beach.

We were very lucky that evening to assist to the weekly release of baby sea turtles into the ocean. Everyone got a small turtle to free on the sand of the beach.

After freeing our turtles into the sea, an ice cold Bintang (local beer) watching the golden sunset was just what we needed!

Day Two

After the first day we decided to tour the lower part of the island. First Uluwatu's temple, then a quick stop at the beach.

While going back to the hotel we stopped to check a surf competition.

Day Three

On day three we visited the famous Ubud's monkey forest. Situated in the hearth of Ubud, it's home to more or less 800 monkeys. The place and the monkeys are considered sacred.

Day Four

First day on our rental scooters. We set out to go see Tegallalang's famous rice terraces. Unfortunately I couldn't get many good pictures, as there were lots of people crowding the walkways.

After lunch we went to see a waterfall of which now I don't remember the name. While coming back from the waterfall I crashed my bike coming out from an intersection. Fortunately I was helped by the locals who came to me to see if I was alright. Got away with some bruises on my arms and a deep cut on my left leg, which I didn't treat until I got home in Italy, two weeks later (pretty stupid in hindisght, I got to admit).

Day Five

After my motorbike incident I still went out to see Leke Leke's waterfall. Worth the pain I would say.

Day Six

Here we went hiking on mt. Batur. Came up to the top just in time to see the sunrise over the caldera at the bottom of the volcano.

Here I just forgot to turn the ISO down. Got some pretty interesting pictures nonetheless.

Day Seven

The last day was spent in a resort in the countryside surrounding Ubud. There were lots of monkey walking around the resort's premises.
